Whether your passion lies in painting single figures, intricate squads, or expansive dioramas, this is where your work takes center stage. Hobby Competition

ALL entry fees collected from our painting competition will be donated to charity. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.


Entries in this category typically consist of settings where technology is non-existent or powered by magical means. Examples of popular fantasy settings include the Tolkien Universe, Warhammer Fantasy Battles / Age of Sigmar etc.

Entries in this category typically consist of settings where technology is prevalent and usually explores concepts beyond current day capabilities (ex. Faster than light travel, fully sentient A.I. etc). Examples of popular Sci-Fi settings include Warhammer 40,000, The Star Wars Universe, and elements of the Marvel Universe etc.

Entry Types

Single model
Entries of this type are single models with a base or display plinth less than 100mm x 100mm, in addition the total height of the model should not exceed 127mm.

Entries of this type are a set of models typically consisting of 5-10 models(however may exceed this). The total footprint for the Squad should not exceed 200mm x 200mm, in addition the total height for any model in the squad should not exceed 127mm.

Large / Open entry
Entries of this type typically consist of large vehicles or monsters that exceed the size dimensions for single model or squad entries. Dioramas / Duel scenes are also acceptable for this entry type.

Formal Judging

Judging will take place between 12pm – 5pm Saturday during each of our Wicked Dicey events, with the finalist entries receiving their medals after 12pm on Sunday.

Player’s Choice

During the course of the convention attendees will be able to vote for their favorite entries. These votes will not be factored into the formal paint judging process but the entry with the most votes will also receive an award. 

Additional Information

Non finalists entries can be retrieved from the display area after 2pm on Sunday. Finalists can retrieve their entries after the conclusion of the awards ceremony which will take place in the evening on Sunday.
